The Seminary was affiliated to the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome, by a decree issued by the Congregation for Catholic Education on the 13 April 1994. This decree is renewed by a rescript every ten years. The last rescript was issued on the 31 of July 2014.

THE CONGREGATION FOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION (for Educational Institutions), after having examined in detail the request of the Most Reverend Master General of the Order of the Friars Preachers, the Chancellor, who legitimately presents, and approved the meeting which took place between His Excellency the Bishop of Gozo and the Most Reverend Rector of the University of St Thomas Aquinas set up in Rome and approved by this Congregation; after having found that in the four-year Theological Course which is followed at the Gozo Seminary with the name The Most Holy Heart of Jesus, the teaching professed is in conformity with the canon norms and is being propounded, while heartily accepting the request of the above mentioned Reverend Chancellor, the same

with this declaration establishes it for another ten years with the power given to this Faculty to bestow the grade of Bachelor of Sacred Theology on those students who follow the prescribed course of study (can. 250 C.I.C.), who passed the special examinations under the guidance and the authority of the same Faculty in the house of the Faculty or Study; according to the rules which have to be observed, having first of all those particular norms required for affiliation, and which have been signed by the two parties and approved by this same Congregation, until there is no objection.
